Position: Mineral Acquisition Analyst
Reports to: COO

Position Summary

The Mineral Acquisition Analyst (“Analyst”) will be responsible for underwriting the acquisition of mineral and royalty assets in key onshore basins in the United States. The Analyst will cooperate with colleagues in the land, finance, and accounting departments to insure rigorous, accurate underwriting of the technical and financial merits of acquisition opportunities.

Over the past 30 years Providence has acquired and managed upstream oil and gas properties across the United States. Currently, Providence owns and/or manages interests in nearly 2 million gross acres of minerals, with interests in over 10,000 producing wells.

Responsibilities

Transaction underwriting:

• Development and maintenance of reserve databases:
  1. Production forecasting
  2. Commodity price assumptions
  3. Cost models: tax, midstream, and LOE
  4. Reserves and decline curves
• Land / leasehold analysis
• Operator research
  1. development economics
  2. developer activity

  Reporting:

• Asset performance tracking
• Portfolio performance reporting

Experience and Qualifications

An ideal candidate will possess the following experience and qualifications:

• 3 years of reservoir engineering or mineral acquisition experience
• High proficiency in ARIES, PHDWin, and / or Combo Curve
• High proficiency with DI Desktop / Enverus and Microsoft Office products
• High level of awareness of industry trends and market dynamics
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation

Base salary: Commensurate with experience with target bonus of 20% of base salary
